Tea Party for 80th anniversary of VE day
		Saturday 10 May, 2025 At the Tower Theatre, Stoke Newington

It was great to see so many people at the VE Day Celebratory Tea Party after the matinée performance of Flare Path on Saturday 10 May. Musical entertainment was provided by “Tower Toots” - a close vocal harmony trio (Caroline, Maeve and Victoria) inspired by the songs and sounds of the Andrews Sisters. We even had a few of our senior membership in attendance who remembered the VE celebrations of 1945 and had the photographs on display to prove it (Sheila Burbidge, you haven’t changed a bit).

There was some excellent home baking on offer - thanks to Laura Corkell, Pru Guthrie, Anna Kidd and Roanne Insley for providing some delicious treats.

Although this was a free event, David - from the British Legion - collected more than £200 for the charity over the course of Saturday.
