A spendid and enjoyable summer evening
The Eastern Curve Garden in Dalston proved the perfect setting for a Garden Party to celebrate the Tower's 80th Anniversary.
Held on July 7th 2012, about 120 Members and Friends mingled, drank Pimms, enjoyed the music, were served tasty food
(including pizzas cooked on the spot on a wood-fired oven) and took part in an intriguing quiz.
Like the rest of the summer the weather could hardly have been called glorious, but the rain mostly held off, and there was pleanty of shelter
during the occasional showers.
Fancy dress with a "Fairy" theme was encouraged, and many members turned up colourfully attired in a variety of styles!
Eve Smith was judged to have the best costume.
The quiz was jointly won by two teams : Julie Arrowsmith and Dinah Irvine, and Nick and Roanne Insley.
(The quiz questions and answers are at the bottom of this page.)
Many thanks to Sarah Ambrose who masterminded the whole event, and to her superb team of helpers, all of whom worked tirelessly
thoughout the evening. It was particularly nice to welcome Celine Rogers back behind the bar, and special mention must be made of chef
Dom Ward who now never wants to see a pizza again!
