This is Patrick Lally's first performance with the Tower Theatre Company. Patrick was attracted to this particular text because the themes overlap with his day job, working with addiction and mental health.
Simone La Martina is an actor and screenwriter who recently moved to London. She is a new member of the Tower Theatre Company and How to Disappear ... is her debut. In Australia, Simone worked on a variety of shows for Netflix, Stan, Binge and the ABC. Independently, she wrote, produced and starred in Privileged, a pilot that won Best Writing and Best Comedy at SeriesFest 2021, and Best Comedy at Stareable 2022. It was also nominated for Best Writing at Stareable 2022, and an official selection of the LA Comedy Festival. During this time she also won the First Break, Australian Writer's Guild competition, and was twice shortlisted for the SBS Emerging Writer's Incubator Program. In 2020 she graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts. Throughout her studies, she wrote, produced, and performed in student theatre and sketch comedy, including the Sydney Law Revue and the Sydney Union Revue. She has also worked on several short films.
How to Disappear ... is Pete Franklyn’s first performance at the Tower Theatre, having joined in 2018. He has been a member of Theatre in the Square for several years, appearing in The Herd, Two, The Hypochondriac and a 2015 production of How to Disappear ... at Theatro Technis. He has performed in three shows at Cornwall’s Minack Theatre, and more recently played Dracula at the Bridewell Theatre in Blackfriars.
How to Disappear Completely and Never be Found will be Joanna Selman-Smith's debut performance at the Tower, having joined the company as an acting member at the beginning of this year. In her day-to-day Jo teaches Art History and facilitates creative workshops for young people. She studied Modernism and Drama as part of her university degree and has long retained an interest in theatre, though only as a spectator. She first got involved at the Tower in 2021, helping with the set design for Kensuke's Kingdom, and has been building the courage to take to the stage ever since.
Nic Campos feels blessed to not only have his first non-Shakespeare at the Tower but his second show in a given year. A pair of firsts! His previous, dearly held productions have been Measure For Measure (Duke Vincentio), Richard III (Lord Stanley) and Twelfth Night (Antontio) where he and Feiyang first collaborated. He thanks her profusely for this thrilling, frightening experience, as well as the stellar cast and crew for coming together to bring forth this moving, nightmarish and surreal vision.
Feiyang Yang has been a member of Tower for almost three years, coming from no theatre background whatsoever. She has had the chance to learn as many aspects as she wanted over that time, mainly focused on directing. Having assisted in four very different plays (Port Authority, Twelfth Night, No Room at the Inn, and The Night Alive), she directed her first two short plays, Distant Early Warning and Homemakers in 2023. Feiyang also loves to learn about sound design and has worked on a few plays in that role.
