A Tower member since 2003, Julie Arrowsmith's favourite roles include playing seven different characters in Two and Lady Macbeth. Other Tower plays : Speaking in Tongues, Calendar Girls, Playboy of the Western World, Men of the World, Garden, Look Back in Anger, Jane Eyre and The Comedy of Errors. She has also crewed shows but finds operating lights a lot more scary than being on stage. By day, she is a speech and language therapist specialising in voice disorders. Originally from Lancashire, Julie is thrilled to pay homage to "God's country" in this wonderful play where the mills and the women "loom" large.

Martin Copland-Gray is an actor, writer and director from Worcestershire. He trained at Birmingham School of Acting where credits included Vanya in Uncle Vanya and Cleante in Tartuffe. Theatre credits include Orsino in Twelfth Night, Terry/Frank in The Coach/The Bench, Mike Brown in the Asylum Dialogues and Chorus in Henry V for the RSC & Compagnia Pippo Delbono. He is a published writer on the subjects of music and fashion and is currently writing his first play. This is Martin's first production for the Tower Theatre Company where he is looking forward to exploring his Northern roots.

Hindle Wakes is Nassima Bouchenak's first production with the Tower Theatre Company since becoming a member in February, and marks a return to acting. Her previous theatre experience includes a studio production with the Actor's Theatre Company, part-time training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and an undergraduate degree in English and Theatre Studies from the University of Warwick. The feminist undertones to this play are what particularly inspired her to audition, and she hopes that she can do Fanny Hawthorn's character justice.

Sacha Walker has appeared with the Tower as Mrs Lenin in Travesties, heavily pregnant Pattie in Season's Greetings, mum Kath in The Kitchen Sink, prison guard Shawna in Coyote on a Fence, the scheming Suffolk in 5/11, brothel keeper Margarita in Dying For It and the dead body of the late Mrs Mary McLeavy in Loot for which she received her best review ever. Roles for other companies include Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit and Sian in Dinner. Outside of theatre Sacha works for the advocacy and campaigning organisation ONE.

Hindle Wakes is Ian (Alexander) Grant's fourth production with the Tower, following Largo Desolato (Theatro Technis, 2014), The Taming of the Shrew (Theatro Technis and Paris, 2013) and the title role in Britannicus (Tower Theatre, 1972). Other theatre has included Coverage (Courtyard Theatre), Cyrano de Bergerac (Corbett Theatre), Macbeth (Cockpit Theatre), Hamlet (Little Wood and Bridewell), The Recruiting Officer (Minack Theatre), The Beaux' Stratagem (Penzance Arts Centre), Pericles (Minack Theatre), The Comedy of Errors (touring and ADC), Measure for Measure (touring), Troilus and Cressida (Minack Theatre), The Memorandum (Pembroke College). Ian trained at East 15 Acting School.

Jonathon Cooper is performing in his second Tower show having made his debut in Mother's Day. Jonathon spent his youth featuring in local stage productions including Blood Brothers and Bouncers. He moved to London from North Yorkshire almost two years ago. He has had roles in the SEDOS productions of Man of La Mancha and Reefer Madness and has featured an extra in the film Bridget Jones' Baby. He will be joining the National Youth Theatre later this year.

John McSpadyen is now in his 27th year as a Tower member, having been an ASM, SM, technical operator, set designer, actor and director. He has been onstage in (amongst others) Blue Remembered Hills, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Factory Girls, Translations, Dealer's Choice, Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll and Farragut North. His productions as director include Copenhagen, Faith Healer, The Constant Wife, Bash, Speaking in Tongues and Farewell to the Theatre. In between shows, he can generally be found wielding a power tool at a Sunday get-in. Away from the Tower, John bakes shortbread and watches TV quiz shows.

Helena Franklin has been a Tower Theatre member since 2010, with parts including Lue in The Winterling, Jacie Triplethree in Comic Potential and Melitta in Mrs Klein. She has also performed with UCLU Drama Society, including as Dotty in Jumpers and Elizabeth Barry in The Libertine. Before moving to London, Helena was a member of the Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company, with whom she appeared several times at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall, including as Miranda in The Tempest and Princess Catherine in Henry V.

Robynne Batley has been involved in the Tower since 2014, working as ASM on Foxfinder. More recently, she was Assistant Director for Mother's Day in February. She had studied drama from school through to University level; in her final production she played the role of Mairead in The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Since then, she's appeared in productions across the UK. The most memorable was Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing which toured around Bournemouth back in 2011. Since then, she's participated in local productions for the South London Theatre and is very happy to be working with the Tower again in Hindle Wakes!

This is Ian Hoare's debut as a Tower director. He has acted in more than twenty productions, and was Assistant Director on The Deep Blue Sea andLittle Nell.
